For producers in their first year of production, or about to start, or for producers looking to refine their rotation. Josh Volk, of Slow Hand Farm, will be offering this workshop based on a system he has been developing and refining for the past 10 years plus.
This day-long workshop will show how good planning helps to save time in the peak season and allows you to manage long term goals.
What to Expect:
Refined crop planning and record keeping system
General principles for creating your own system
How to plan out hundreds of different plantings and keep track of them with minimal effort
Understand how current field choices affect future crop options
How to integrate cover crops
Be converted to Excel Spreadsheets: shotcuts and techniques that will make you more efficient and effective
Josh will use case studies to show successful crop rotation systems: setting and prioritizing goals, creating crop rotation groups, and mapping rotation through time and space. He will then guide participants through the planning process as they apply their knowledge first-hand.
