Free Gardening Workshops
Join Evergreen at City Hall for two FREE workshops that will help you make the most of next year’s gardening season.
Garden Planning and Preparation with Grant Watson
Thursday, December 1st, 5:30 – 7:30 pm,
Meeting Room 3, Creekside Community Centre
Start thinking about getting your beds ready for spring planting. A sound garden plan that takes all the key factors into consideration has a better chance of giving you a bountiful harvest throughout the year!
Grant Watson is a former organic farmer, community organizer and local food advocate; he operates Grant’s Gourmet Gardens, an edible landscaping business.
Workshop is free and refreshments will be provided. Please register by Monday, November 28th. Limit of 10 people.
Natural Pest Management with Arzeena Hamir
Monday, December 5th, 5:30 – 7:30 pm,
Vancouver City Hall, Strathcona Room
Keep those pesky bugs from ruining the food crops you’ve worked so hard to grow. Learn how to keep your garden free of pests without using dangerous or harmful chemicals. It’s better for you and better for the planet!
Arzeena Hamir is an agronomist specializing in organic vegetable gardening.
