Morning Star Community Cook - Part-time Employment Opportunity

JOB OVERVIEW
The "Morning Star Program" is a community service for people living with few resources. The Morning Star Community Cook’s key responsibility is the delivery and co-ordination of a nutritious low-cost breakfast on Saturday mornings. This service is integrated with other components like showers, clothing, medical information, advocacy and outreach.


QUALIFICATIONS
 Knowledge in areas of nutrition, food handling, food preparation, menu planning and food service

 Strong interpersonal, organizational, leadership, communication and conflict resolution skills

 Previous experience in supporting people living in poverty and those living with multiple barriers

 Ability to recruit, supervise and motivate volunteers

 Ability to maintain partnerships and develop new food donation partnerships

 Ability to work in a team

 Use of own vehicle is an asset.


JOB DETAILS
Salary : $15.43 per hour
Schedule : 10 hours a week
Location : 5288 Joyce Street
Expected start date : As soon as possible
This is a unionized position covered by a Collective Agreement with CUPE Local 1936-05.
