Home Grown Talk & Tour with Chris Hergesheimer

Chris Hergesheimer, FarmFolkCityFolk Grain Chain Coordinator and owner of The Flour Peddler, discusses
growing local grain and the first grain community shared agriculture (CSA) in the Lower Mainland. Presented by FarmFolkCityFolk. Free with admission.

Family Workshops

Saturday, November 6th, 13th & 20th

Spend a day at the museum getting dirty! Fun food-themed activities for families with kids ages 5-12. Register your family for a workshop on gardening, backyard chickens or seed saving. DTES Kitchen Tables Series

Sunday, November 21st at 1:30pm

Join community activists and food specialists for the discussion Making Food, Making Jobs: Downtown Eastside Residents working in their local food economy. Presented by The Downtown Eastside Neighbourhood House and the Potluck Café Society. Free with admission.

Food & Beers Series with the authors of The 100-Mile Diet

Thursday, November 25th at 7pm

How Do We Compare To Other Cities? James MacKinnon and Alisa Smith, authors of The 100-Mile Diet, share their top ten list of innovative local food projects currently underway in North America. Presented by Tides Canada. Tickets $15, includes admission to the exhibits.
