EAT THIS: art feeds us
Free Entry – Doors at 6:30pm

Russian Hall (600 Campbell Ave.)

An exciting new collaboration between Heart Of the City Festival, RayCam Media Lab and Check Your Head. An evening celebrating youth films, spoken word performances, food for the people and the Hip Hop Hope CD Release!. Youth from Raycam Media Lab, Power of Hope, Reel Youth, A.M.E.S. and L.O.V.E (all organizations dedicated to honouring youth voice) will be featured in this evening extravaganza.

Come join us for an evening where food nourishes our body and art nourishes our souls.

7pm - 8pm - Food Justice from mind to mouth (seasonal food by chef Cari Lynn Reid)
Come together to share a meal and learn and discuss what Food Sovereignty / Food Justice means in our community and how to further take action to ensure that our future includes issues of food justice.
Local food justice experts will facilitate discussion and share knowledge on Food Justice issues while you eat!!!

Learn how to get involved in food justice actions in your community! Awesome community orgs will be tabling and displaying their incredible projects!
(food and discussion start at 7pm sharp!)

8pm - 9:30pm - Youth Films and Spoken Word Performances:
Films from AMES and Reel Youth
Spoken Words by youth from Hip Hop Hope and L.O.V.E.
also performing.....Cynthia Oka, Fatu, Mike D, Nadia Chaney

9:30pm - 11pm - Dance the night away
DJ BuzyB and Su Commandante keep the dance floor going.
